Any registered voter can cast their vote using an absentee ballot. As a voter, you must submit a ballot application, unless you’ve previously submitted a permanent ballot application, and then return the voted ballot by mail or through an absentee ballot drop box. It is crucial that ballots arrive at the clerk's office before 8:00 PM on Election Day. There are three options for absentee applications: online at Mi.gov/Vote, upon request from the Clerk's office, or by visiting the Clerk's office.

votinIt is strongly recommended to return the ballot to the City or the drop box, especially during the last week before the election. The outer envelope of the ballot MUST be signed and dated by the voter. For those preferring a permanent absentee ballot for all future elections, they can sign up for the Permanent Absentee Voter List at Mi.gov/Vote. However, it is important to note that if added to the permanent list, YOU are responsible to let us know if you are leaving town. Your ballot will not automatically be forwarded.
