SUBJECT: Oil Spill:  Initial Report


On April 4th, 2024, at 10:00 pm the City of Flint Sewer Department was notified of an oil spill going into the Flint River in Whaley Park, Dort Hwy outfalls (eastside of the river). This discharge was due to possible oil containers leaking on private property into the City of Flint storm system.

As a precautionary measure required by law, the State of Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes,  & Energy (EGLE) and the Genesee County Health Department have been notified, as well as officials of Flint Township and Flushing.
