 Section 5.3 The City Manager shall be the administrative agent of the Council, and shall be vested with all administrative powers of the City, except as otherwise provided by the Charter, and shall perform the duties of his/her office under the authority of, and be accountable to the Council. Except as otherwise provided in this Charter, or required by law, all administrative officers, other than the City Attorney and members of City Boards, shall be responsible to him/her for the performance of their duties.

The City of Flushing is accepting applications for a clerical assistant position in City Hall. The individual will be responsible for general clerical tasks, customer service, cash handling and office activities. the part time position will be scheduled Monday through Friday at no more than 30 hours per week. POLICE OFFICER                                                                                                                                                                           

The City of Flushing Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of police officer.  Persons selected for this position will be responsible for investigating criminal complaints, traffic enforcement, responding to disturbances, enforcing state law and city ordinances and other related duties.

The City of Flushing has a desirable work environment and offers a competitive benefit package.

Applicants must meet all of the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) Employment Standards for Michigan Law Enforcement Officers, be of good moral character and  have obtained a minimum of an associate’s degree (bachelor’s degree is preferred).  Applicants must be MCOLES certified, possess a valid Michigan driver’s license, and must be able to successfully pass MCOLES medical examination to include a drug screen.
